Annette Sheckler has twenty-five years of experience as a development professional. She has worked in governance, refugees and migration, humanitarian assistance, gender and the media.
Annette served as a Senior Advisor to the Embassy of Ethiopia in Washington, D.C. where she worked to promote relations between the Government of Ethiopia and the Government of the United States. She was a Special Advisor to the Organization of African First Ladies against HIV and AIDS in Addis Ababa, as well as an Advisor to the First Lady of Ethiopia.
She was a longtime editor the Horn of Africa Journal and has written extensively on politics in the Horn of Africa. She did her doctoral work at the University of Illinois.
